However, fans of the franchise might still hold out hope for an announcement at this year’s Game Awards. Showing more content for this highly anticipated game during a Nintendo Direct is the obvious move for Team Cherry. The team had previously revealed that there would be no news of Silksong at E3 2021, so it’s not too surprising that there’s nothing to show three months later.īut what makes Silksong’s absence so obvious is that the game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch before other platforms. ![]() Team Cherry is a small, indie developer stationed in South Australia, which means progress takes a bit longer than what players might expect out of larger, triple-A studios. Players were hoping to hear more about it during the September 23 Nintendo Direct, and while there were a lot of games announced, there was no update to Silksong.Īs for why Hollow Knight: Silksong wasn’t covered in the Nintendo Direct, the simple answer is that Team Cherry wasn’t ready to show anything just yet. Hollow Knight: Silksong was first announced back at the start of 2019, over two years ago now, and since then, very little has been made public about the sequel. Unfortunately, the game did not make an appearance during the 40 minute presentation, which leads players to wonder where was Hollow Knight: Silksong and what’s going on with its development? Where was Hollow Knight: Silksong at the Nintendo Direct? Fans have been waiting a long time for more news on this title, and there was hope we'd get to hear more about Silksong during the September 23 Nintendo Direct. It doesn't look like the elements were taken directly from Hollow Knight-it looks like they were hand-made in a 3D software, and that little bit of effort is super neat.Hollow Knight: Silksong is the eagerly anticipated sequel to the 2017 hit, Hollow Knight. The models also look pretty good, too-as does the environment. The camera was a little iffy to me at first, but I quickly got pretty used to it-the set angle that it's at is a really neat nod to the original game only remaining 2D, and I feel like it fits the scene pretty well. Another thing that bothered me was how slow the attack button was-I think having a shorter cooldown time would be a great idea. I think it would've been better to have let the character slide off of them rather than completely break momentum. ![]() Some small things that I found a little bit cumbersome about it is how the character bumps into objects and stops moving entirely. The music and the tone fits in well with each other. You did a great job with recreating the environment of Hollow Knight in a 3D space, and the atmosphere that you made for it was also very well-done. It's slow, but considering it's a demo and you don't intend to make anything big out of it, I'd say it's pretty good. This isn't really that bad, all things considered. (I do not know if any other controlers work) There you use the joysticks, and A, X, B for jumping, sword and talking. This should also work with an Xbox controler. ![]() This demo isn't 100% accurate in terms of world and story, but I tried keeping as close to the source material as I could. I chose to work with Hollow Knight, because I love the game and the universe, and wanted the challenge of turning a world from 2D to 3D. ![]() This was made as a school project for me to improve on 3D and trying to learn some Unity.
